How Wild-Animal Research Can Contribute to Treatment of Human Diseases

Dr. Vander received an MD from the University of Michigan, and after interning at The New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center he returned to Michigan, where he joined the faculty of the Physiology Department for 30 years.  He has published more than 100 research articles dealing with various areas of human physiology, several textbooks for undergraduates and medical students, as well as a general audience book entitled “Nutrition, Stress, and Toxic Chemicals.”  He has received multiple University and national awards for both his teaching and research.
