Our own President Mike Weaver welcomed us all and greeted the guests.
Our Pledge of Allegiance to our U.S. Flag and country was given by Tony Thacher and Andi Bloom gave the invocation for all to contemplate.
Grant K. and Nathan K. greeted all souls in a kind, hospitable and collegial way.
Visiting Rotarians and Guests
‘Visiting Rotarians' were Nick O. from the ‘Tuesday' Rotary Club and Abel from the Ojai Valley Mexican Fiesta. Other Guests included: Farmer and good guy Jim Churchill and all the friends from the “Life After Brain Injury Group”
We start with Announcements:
"TASTE OF OJAI" September 25 , at the beautiful OVI & Spa – bring your payment, $200 for your four tickets – each member is responsible for buying/selling four tickets. This is our main fundraiser for the year, and a WONDERFUL way to entertain, friends, family clients and in-laws. Ren Adams is asking for volunteers to help host the ‘Check-in' table. We need 12 people, one hour shifts. Please contact him at renzworld@aol.com committee.
Promote ‘TASTE' on your Facebook, put posters in your businesses, and send invitations out by email! We have posters, postcards and biz cards with all the details. We need to sell 600 tickets to be able to continue with grant programs. With only 30 days to go – WE ALL NEED TO SELL and promote our fundraiser.

Mexican Fiesta and Scholarship Program will be September 12 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 11 – 6 pm. This is a great opportunity to support Latin-American Students in the Ojai Valley. Contact 340.3228 or 207.3136

Don Reed gave his famous Power Point presentation about the do's and don'ts of bringing in a new member – This can be found on our web site– 3 G of the bylaws.
Fining: Larry Wilde
Larry Wilde did his best to fine club members. His theme, “Who is Mike Weaver?” was thought-provoking, entertaining and brought in over $100 to our club! The money poured in ! Thanks to everyone who helps sustain our club with dollars. Way to go Larry ! I learned that Mike went to Pepperdine for Grad School and his wife's name in Suzanne and he lived in Bakersfield.

Program: David Wilk and Tyler Sutton

David Wilk , board president for ‘Life After Brain Injury' gave a fascinating talk about the challenges that individuals go through after experiencing an injury due to a fall, stroke, alcohol or other accident. Tyler Sutton, a brain injury survivor, shared his personal experiences after a bad motorcycle accident at age 22. There are over 200,000 brain injured victims as a result of the war. David shared information about the local group that supports families, promotes education and useful tools for victims. The center encourages folks to engage in exercise, eat healthy and think healthy, remember to be hopeful and grateful and to have fun! www.braininjurycenter.org This organization will host a brunch – Sunday October 3 at Saticoy Country Club 11:30 – 3:00 as a fundraiser to support this important work. Thank you David for sharing challenges and successes!
