A Plague of Goy
Todays Holiday PSA brought to you by Burma Shave.
Pass Over is over and Easter is here
Fining one, not the other, a bum steer.

Moses tapped his staff and the meeting came to order.

Bob Davis led the flag salute.

Colin Jones gave an invocation, reading the role on Rotarians passed but not forgotten.

Guests and members were invited to partake in manna, or what passes for nourishment in the wilderness of Soule Park. (For those following along at home the usual suspects flanked by beef stroganoff. The noodles and bread might be leavened. Please check with your server).

Being a nattily dressed and well mannered creature, President Bill thanked those that made things possible.

There were guests and visiting Rotarians, past and present, a plenty.

Pharaoh Bob Dadi made an appearance. He claimed to have forgotten his way to our meetings, but arrived to let us know we might continue to draw water from his well, having vanquished the Hittites of Golden State Water. Moses said Bob reminded him of an attorney he worked with in New York: always right for the wrong reasons.

Team Gabriel passed the herald’s baton as announcements were made:

Alan West invited the devoted to participate in the tree of life ceremonies on Arbor day. The regular club meeting will be held at Mira Monte Elementary School Friday April 28th. Please show your pride by flying the colors and wearing your Rotary shirts. Marty asked that those seeking sustenance sign up for a fabulous box lunch in advance. They need a hard count for food services.

Suzanne Scar and committee have unanimously recommended (an offer) and the Foundation board has unanimously accepted that recommendation ( an unqualified acceptance , forming an agreement). Thanks to all for their hard work. Awards will be made at the May 19th meeting.

The Centennial picnic was a great success. Thanks to those who participated.

Mike Weaver’s International Service Committee will meet at Ojai’s International House of Pancakes (Cafe’ Emporium) at 7:30am April 18th.

Ren Adam, fining angel of death, missed the memo on the Israelites having their own holiday and not being much on resurrection and chocolate bunnies.  Alan Jacobs channeled his best Bugsy Seagal and flatly said,”I don’t do Easter.” And kicked his twenty bucks in the passed plate. Based on the success of the Easter questions I look forward to heroes of the confederacy questions on Martin Luther King Day.

Mercifully Sandy Buecheley, who I think walks on water, introduced the day’s speaker, Mike Borders, to discuss The Ojai (tennis tournament). Established in 1896 by William Thacher. This year is the 117th anniversary of the oldest running tennis tournament held at one location. It is the largest tennis event in the world with 1200 players participating. They use 130 courts over 30 venues. Largest volunteer event in Ojai annually. It is  ten day set up to tear down for those putting it on. This year The Ojai is April 26th to 30th.
